TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Application

These general terms and conditions apply to all reservations made at Chambres d’Hôtes Repos à Ribérac, located at 36 Rue Jean Moulin, 24600 Ribérac, managed by Aad and Vera Rijgersberg.

2. Stay

Stays at our chambres d’hôtes are limited in duration. Under no circumstances may guests invoke any right to extend their stay.
The agreement is always concluded for a specific number of persons. If the number of guests arriving exceeds the agreed number and no other guest rooms are available, the owner may refuse access to the additional guests. This refusal cannot under any circumstances be construed as a modification or cancellation of the agreement on the part of the owner.

3. Reservation and Payment

A reservation is considered confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of at least 50% of the total amount. This amount must reach us no later than 14 days before the start of the stay.
For stays booked at shorter notice, between 14 and 5 days before the start of the stay, a deposit of the full booking amount is required.
For stays booked at very short notice, the balance is to be paid in full on arrival.
Meals and drinks are paid for in cash on the morning of departure.
Payment can be made in cash, by bank transfer, debit card or credit card.

4. Cancellation policy

All cancellations must be made in writing or by email.
The following charges will apply:
- For cancellations up to 15 days before the start of the stay: the 50% deposit will be refunded, minus our bank charges.
- for cancellations between 15 and 7 days before the start of the stay: the 50% deposit will not be refunded, the balance will be waived;
- for cancellations less than 7 days before the start of the stay: the full amount will be charged;
- if the guest decides to shorten their stay after arrival, the full booked duration of the stay will still be charged.
In case of no-show or early departure, the full amount of the stay will be charged.
In the event that the owners are obliged to cancel the stay, the guest will be notified immediately in writing or by email. The guest will receive a refund of any amounts paid in advance immediately.

5. Arrival and Departure

Check-in is possible between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Guests are requested to provide their estimated arrival time in advance.
If the guest wishes to check in earlier or later than the times mentioned, this is only possible on request and subject to availability, and at a charge of €20 per room.
In the event of arrival later than 10 p.m. without the owner having been informed in advance or without this having been agreed, the owner may dispose of the room and possibly rent it to other guests, and the agreement will be considered void. In this case, the deposit will not be refunded.
Check-out must take place before 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.
If the guest wishes to check out later, this is only possible on request and subject to availability, and for a fee of €20 per room.

6. Tourist tax

The tourist tax (taxe de séjour) is a local tax that must be paid by the guest to the owner.
The tax is calculated per night per guest and only applies to guests aged 18 and over.
The owner pays the tourist tax to the tax collector.

7. House rules

In order to guarantee all guests at Repos à Ribérac a safe, pleasant, peaceful and enjoyable stay, a number of house rules/guidelines are in place:

Smoking and/or vaping is not permitted in the rooms or indoor areas. Smoking is permitted in the courtyard/patio, provided that it does not disturb other guests and that an ashtray is used. If smoking is detected in the room or elsewhere indoors, the guest will be charged an additional €150 for extra cleaning costs. Furthermore, this discovery will result in the immediate termination of the stay of all guests belonging to the same booking, without refund of the deposit already paid. The guest will still be liable for the total amount of the booking.
Excessive alcohol consumption is not permitted. If this is observed, the stay of all guests belonging to the same reservation will be terminated immediately, without refund of the deposit already paid. The guest will still be liable for the total amount of the reservation.
Pets are not allowed.
Guests must behave respectfully towards other guests and the owner.
Guests may not take items from the common areas to their room or patio without prior consultation with and permission from the owner.
Guests may not invite guests other than those who have checked in/registered to the house and/or room without prior consultation with and permission from the owner.
The use of facilities such as the garden and communal areas is at your own risk.
The hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. are quiet hours. Guests must respect these quiet hours as much as possible.
Breakfast is only served in the dining room or, weather permitting, in the private courtyard.
Guests using the entrance/exit at the side of the house must lock the door manually with their key when leaving and returning.
Guests are requested to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. Lights and/or other energy consumers must be switched off when leaving the room. If you return home late, please also switch off the lights in the hall, staircase and landing after use.
If the owner finds that guests are not complying with the above guidelines, the owner reserves the right to deny the guests in question and those belonging to the same booking further access to the chambres d'hôtes, without refunding any deposit. The guest will still be liable for the total amount of the booking.

8. Liability

Chambres d'Hôtes Repos à Ribérac is not liable for loss, theft or damage to guests' property.
Guests are expected to maintain peace and quiet and to use the facilities, buildings and furniture exclusively for their intended purpose.
The guest undertakes to keep the room in good condition and to leave it in good condition. If the owner finds that this has not been done and, in the owner's opinion, additional cleaning costs are incurred, the guest will be liable for an additional fee of €150 for extra cleaning costs.
Damage caused by guests to the accommodation or owner’s properties must be compensated by the guests.

9. Personal Data

Guests' personal data will be treated confidentially and used exclusively for the purposes of booking, communication and compliance with the legal obligations of the French government.

10. Disputes

In the event of disputes, an attempt will first be made to resolve them by mutual agreement.
In the event of legal disputes, French law shall apply and the competent court shall be located in Périgueux.

By making a booking with Chambres d'Hôtes Repos à Ribérac, the guest agrees to these terms and conditions.
